Gentle, empowering support to help you heal, grow, and thrive.

jay-castor-7AcMUSYRZpU-unsplash.jpg

Hello there, and welcome. If you're reading this, chances are you're thinking about asking for some help, and that takes courage. You're safe here. Let me put your mind at ease, and tell you a bit about how therapy with me could help you.

Therapy is for you, and about you. What if there was a place where you could be yourself? Where you could bring whatever it is that is troubling you, no matter how big or small you may think it is, and share it with someone safe, who won't judge you?

What would it be like to have someone listen, really listen to you, strive to understand what it's like for you, and work together with you to find a way forward?

This is what counselling with me could be like - a relationship where you feel safe, accepted, and secure enough to work through what's going on for you, past, present, and future.

Fear, shame, guilt, anxiety, the past, - all invisible, right? But inside, they are very real and powerful. Holding you back, holding you prisoner, even. Keeping you small, fearful, unheard, stuck, distressed and unsure.

We’ll work together to sort through things and move towards healing, growing, leaving unhelpful patterns, habits and experiences in the past and moving towards the future you want.

To take the first step, I welcome you to get in touch with me, to see if we might work well together.

About

ABOUT

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending”
C.S Lewis

Hi, I’m Tiffany (she/her), and my passion is empowering people who may be feeling overwhelmed, hurt, confused or stuck to navigate their way through whatever is troubling them to find the purpose, meaning, joy and worth in themselves and their lives.

I'm a BACP registered counsellor/psychotherapist as well as an occupational therapist. I've worked in mental health with people of all ages in the last 20 years. I'm experienced, skilled and trained in a wide variety of approaches which I'll draw from to support you.

Most importantly, I'm able to offer you a warm, accepting, non-judgemental space to explore what's happening for you.

I’ve experienced counselling myself of course, so I know what it’s like to be ‘in the other chair’ (as well as how important it is to find someone you ‘click’ and feel safe with)!

I began Peridot Counselling to create a space where you can feel safe, welcomed, accepted, valued and truly heard. There are not enough spaces in the world for this, and they are important! A space just for you, where you are able to share without fear of judgment, and I can bring in my wide variety of experience and training to provide therapy tailored to YOU and your unique needs. We’ll build a way forward together.

You may have something specific you need support with. You may just have the sense that things aren't quite right, and you could be feeling a lot better than you do now.

Being heard and understood by a safe person can be incredibly healing, and can be the first step towards a happier, healthier future. I'll walk with you.

To get started, drop me a message.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are your fees?

A session costs £60, payable in advance via bank transfer to secure the session.

How do I book in with you?

Either use the contact form at the bottom of my page or email me on Tiffany@peridotcounselling.co.uk  with a brief outline of what is going on for you. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

I offer a short, free, 15 minute introduction call (phone or video call) where we can meet each other, have a chat about what your needs are, how I work, and see if we feel we will be a good fit to work together.

If you’d like to book in following this, I’ll send you a client contract and information sheet, and arrange a suitable time for our first session.

Is Counselling Confidential?

What you say in therapy is confidential and what is discussed stays between us.  However, there are a few exceptions to this (to keep you safe), which I will discuss at our first meeting.

When are your appointments?

I work weekdays and some weekday evenings. In-person appointments are currently on a Monday morning at Glenwood Wellbeing Space, CF236UW. Online/Phone availability is more flexible. Please get in touch to find out more about availability.

Where are you located?

I am based in Cardiff, South Wales, but I offer online sessions UK wide. I don't work with clients outside the U.K due to insurance stipulations.

How often should I have sessions?

I recommend weekly sessions, to keep momentum and build on the work each week. Different timescales can potentially be accommodated depending on the work and if it fits with my existing scheduled appointments. I'm happy to discuss what might work best for you, however a weekly slot that's 'yours' is the best way to guarantee regular and consistent appointments and get good results.

How many sessions will I need?

This is completely down to the individual and their needs. Some people may find that 1 session is all they need to resolve their issue, others may come for a few weeks or months to work through specific things, some people find that they benefit from longer term deeper work with a trusted person. I enjoy developing relationships with people however long they are working with me and believe this is key to therapy being successful. I do enjoy long term therapeutic work with clients but there is no reason why you can’t come for one session- whatever is most beneficial for you!

How do sessions work?

Counselling sessions are 50 mins-1 hour. We can meet in-person, or online using secure video software. For online sessions, I’ll send you a link via email which you simply click to access the session. You’ll need a smartphone or computer, an internet connection and a private space where you can talk freely.

I also offer face to face therapy in Cardiff, South Wales. I work from lovely accessible rooms at Glenwood Wellbeing Space in Circle Way West, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, CF23 6UW. There is plenty of parking and it's on a bus route.

I also offer telephone counselling – again, you will need a private space for this to ensure confidentiality.

I'm anxious about making contact with someone I don't know, and talking about my 'stuff'!

This is totally normal, I get it, I've been in your shoes! It's my job, and priority to help you to feel comfortable and safe with me. I'm here to help, in a way that works for you. We can figure this out together.

If you have any other questions, or are ready to take the next step then do get in touch for a no-obligation chat :)
